The Cartel clock is a type of clock that originated in Franc in the late 17th century, under the reign of Louis XIV. The most acclaimed models are composed of two parts, the great clock and base, called in slang Coul de Lampe. We can find them inlaid in intarsia Boulle, poor lacquer decoration, and green Horn.
Still signed in front of the dial and the rest of the mechanism by the master watchmaker. These watches are large and were exposed in major French salons.
The rarest models are ornamented with carved and gilded bronze into gold. Surmounted by a figure.
