A beautiful Empire pendulum with bronze Sphinxes (Bazile - Charles Le Roy (1785 - 1839)
He was the Clockmaker to Napoleon, Mme Mere, King of Westphalia, the Princess Pauline and the Duc de Bourbon. Born and died in Paris. In 1785 he founded the house of Le Roy at the. Palais Royale in La Galerie de Pierre, which became in 1789 Le Rue de Egalité and in Company sold c. 1845 but name used until late 19th century.
