A beautifully executed and impressive (72 cm) bronze statue of Cupid.
This beautiful bronze statue by Auguste Moreau was made in bronze with brown patina and gilt bronze around 1880 by the bronzier Charles Gautier. The image is a full-length Cupid, with a quiver on his back and a small butterfly posing on his forearm.
Born in 1834 and died in 1917, Auguste Moreau is a French sculptor best known for his bronze works of art, of which this Cupid is a perfect witness.
