Detailed Description
Unique mantel clock, made of glass and bronze, made during the period of Nicholas I (1825-1855) in the style of the late Empire. The solar theme of the luminary rising from the waters is associated with the nature of abundance in the ornament of the dial and the dominant vase on the conical glass. The general leitmotif of the mobility of the wave and time permeates the work and is noticeable in the rhythm of the glass and the design of the dial. In the center of the composition, He and She are Helios' assistants. alpha and omega of the universe. Having risen from the waves, they hold the luminary, affirming love, life, fertility. This is the connecting thread of the times. The clock is made of gilded and polished bronze, richly decorated with artistic decoration in the form of male and female figures, mounted on a pedestal made of cobalt glass, presumably made at the Imperial Glass Factory in St. Petersburg, with bronze bases made of floral ornament. The upper part of the watch is made in the form of a vase and decorated with bronze floral gilded decor. The dial is marked with Roman numerals, decorated with sunbeams rotated around the clock circle.
