Descrizione Dettagliata
Magnificent pair of covered vases of baluster shape in sky blue and carmine red porcelain with gold highlights. They stand on a pedestal decorated with gold fillets.
The ribbed body is decorated with gold fillets and a frieze of foliage and roses, the shoulder is highlighted by a wide band with a medallion revealing a quiver of arrows delicately placed on a bed of roses.
The ribbed lid, decorated with gold fillet, is surmounted by a fretel, two open gules lions' heads, in shape grips, magnify the whole.
Each vase rests on a cylindrical base such as a column or a wide band, revealing a decoration of garlands of roses in pink and gold highlights.
Period : Early 19th century
Dimensions : Height : 38,5cm x Width : 13cm
Diameter of the base : 10cm
Signature : under the base
In the taste of the great Viennese manufactures, this pair of vases is undoubtedly a specific order from a most thoughtful man.
The quiver is a decorative motif in the form of an arrow case, a symbol of love
This attribute of Diana, the goddess of the hunt, is frequently found in the Louis XVI style, but also when one wants to show respect and love.
Here it is part of a graceful composition in which country attributes such as roses are also mixed in.
In the language of flowers, the more marked the pink of a rose, the more its symbolism will be that of gratitude and recognition.
The paler the rose, the more it will be associated with a message of sweetness.
The pink rose symbolises love, but in a much softer, gentler way. It is also the ideal flower to pay tribute to beauty and femininity par excellence.
