Descrizione Dettagliata
Side table made by the French design duo Robert Guillerme and Jacques Chambron in the 1960s for a French client. This table is made of waxed light oak and the small handle is made of leather, edited for "Votre Maison".
Period: 20th century
Circa: 1965
Dimensions: Height: 52cm x Length: 83cm x Depth: 40cm
Robert Guillerme had the art of making us forget that the chair leg is not necessarily a replica of the table leg.
If the design of each piece of furniture is guided by its final function, that is to say, its use, it also integrates an aesthetic research which is concretised by implicit intentions of catching light and shadow, of highlighting the natural nobility of the material, such as wood, leather, ceramics, fabrics... his creations are felt as sincere and authentic.
Jacques Chambron's role was crucial in getting the public to accept this concept, since he was able to persuade the buyer to depart from the usual clichés, to embrace innovation, to combine a welcoming armchair for the master of the house with another of a different design, but one whose seating satisfies his wife perfectly, and to complete the ensemble with a comfortable bench seat reserved for guests.
Fabrics with different textures and colours, abandoning monochrome in favour of a lively and harmonious palette of colours, which can even go as far as provocation, the "Votre Maison" style still meets everyone's real expectations.
