Head of Woman (18th century) - oil painting on canvas

This fine artwork depicting a fragment of a yet unidentified major composition, displays a woman looking towards the left of the spectator. She, most likely a figure associated to Catholicism wears an orangish drappery and light brown mantle which let us think of a probable Saint.

So as the depicted sitter, the origin of this artwork is unclear. The quality of the painting speaks by itself, facial gestures are finely represented by a - probably italian - artist.

Oil on canvas. Recently restored, ready to hang.
