Descrizione Dettagliata
Table of violin form, with structure in blackened pear tree, almost completely covered with a marquetry 'Boulle'.
This technique, which consists of a superposition of Red Tortoiseshells and Chiselled Brass, allows to obtain these Arabesques, Rinceaux and Volutes of a Great Finesse.
The curves and counter-curves of the top are underlined by a large brass rod shaped into foliage.
The moving belt, following the lines of the top, opens in front of a drawer assembled in dovetails.
This last one is equipped with a working lock and the piece of furniture is provided with its key with cut head.
In addition to the marquetry of André Boulle, framed by brass rods, the four sides of this table are also embellished in their centers of four masks in bonze.
The set rests on four generously curved legs, embellished with Espagnolettes with soft faces in the upper part, Sabots in the lower part, and Filets d'arêtes joining them.
Period : XIXth - Napoleon III
Dimensions : Height : 76cm x Length : 148cm x Width : 77cm
This 'Boulle' table will conquer the amateurs of chic, refined furniture.
It has benefited from a meticulous restoration in the rules of art in our workshops and is entirely varnished with a stamp.
